I’d been looking forward to Christina and Jamie’s wedding for a while now. They had an intimate sunset ceremony and reception at Brockhouse Restaurant right off of Jericho beach, which never disappoints with it’s gorgeous west coast views.
Our day started off at L’Hermitage hotel in downtown Vancouver where Christina and Jamie were getting ready. They were adamant on not seeing each other dressed up before their first look so Christina locked herself up in the bedroom while Jamie had the rest of the suite. I arrived while Christina was still getting her makeup done, which gave me plenty of time to photograph the details. When I got the chance to take a look at her, she looked absolutely stunning with her braid crown, loose curls and natural looking makeup.
Over in the living room was a much different scene. Jamie and his groomsmen were in charge of loading up the cars and making sure nothing was left behind. Alex was able to sit Jamie down few minutes and get some photos of him before we were off to Whytecliff Park.
I was really excited about this day because I never get a chance to go out to Whytecliff Park on a wedding day due to it being so out of the way. We arrived at Whytecliff at low tide so we were able to walk across the rocks and up onto the islet. We set Christina up and before long, Jamie had arrived to get a very emotional first peek at his bride to be. We navigated the cliffs of the islet together surrounded by beautiful coastal views. Before long, our time at Whytecliff was over and we had to head back toward Jericho beach for the ceremony at Brockhouse Restaurant.
The sun was still high up in the sky when we arrived at Brockhouse, but the trees and clouds provided shelter from the beaming rays. It was a marvellous mid summer ceremony surrounded Christina and Jamie’s closest friends and relatives. There were a number of guests from across the pond visiting from the United Kingdom so it was great to really show off what Vancouver summers have to offer.
Guests were adorned with a warm glow from the setting sun while they enjoyed an evening of delicious food, flowing drinks, and good company. We finished the evening off with a sunset session on the beach and dancing inside the solarium.
