Back in April, it was finally time for the world’s shortest commute to work. It was the day of Vince and Krystina’s wedding! I woke up, got dressed and literally walked next door to start photographing Krystina getting ready for her big day. It was a strange, but familiar feeling walking through the halls of her and Vince’s home… haha. I started off getting reacquainted with her bridesmaids while photographing details. Before long, we were out the door and on our way to UBC for the first look.
The early months of 2017 were wet ones – Vince and Krystina’s wedding day was no exception. Luckily, their wedding was at the Sage Bistro located on campus at UBC where there are tons of sheltered spots at our disposal. Their first look took place at the UBC Pharmacy Building. I picked this spot because of its unique architecture and tall glass walls, but mostly because it would shield the wedding party from the rain. Vince and Krystina were SO excited to see each other (as you can tell from the photos). We finished off photos with the wedding party at the Buchanan courtyard before settling down for the ceremony.
The ceremony took place indoors at the Sage Bistro. The room was filled with natural light from the floor to ceiling windows and a stunning flower wall, provided by Flower Wall Vancouver, which served as the backdrop for their nuptials
Following the ceremony, the couple and family were whisked away for formal portraits and the guests enjoyed a cocktail hour while the room was flipped for the reception.
The night was filled with some VERY amusing speeches and stories about the couple (mostly Vince) and embarrassing games were organized by the MC’s to keep the guests thoroughly entertained. Before long, the dance floor was filled with people eager to celebrate and it was time for us to part ways for the evening.
Vince and Krystina, it was an honour to document your wedding and it has been an absolute pleasure being your neighbour! Thank you so much for trusting in me to photograph your special day!!
