Before the end of summer, I had the opportunity to meet and photograph these super cool guys! Our day started off with a drive out to Golden Ears Park in Maple Ridge. Tu and Phuong are avid hikers and explorers and really wanted to show off that side of them in their photos. Golden Ears offers a plethora of scenes and was the perfect spot to capture that West Coast vibe.
We started our session off in, what I like to refer to as, the Enchanted Elven Forest. Up on this plateau, we’re surrounded by gigantic firs and ferns. Once we were finished exploring this spot, we headed down to the river which leads to North Beach. The water level was unusually low so we were able to walk out quite far to get sweeping views of Alouette Lake and the surrounding mountains.
We’d worked up quite an appetite at Golden Ears so we headed back to Vancouver to get some lunch at Phnom Penh (Mmmmmm Chicken Wings). Once our bellies were full, we were ready to take some more photos! Construction at the Vancouver Art Gallery was finally complete so we went to get some shots on the iconic stairway. Tu and Phuong really love the heritage and old town feel that out city has to offer so we made a quick stop at The Vancouver Club to borrow their entrance, then finished off our session on the streets of Gas Town just as the lights turned on.
It was a long day of shooting, but SO worth it for the great company. I can’t wait for the wedding at Hycroft this summer. Tu and Phuong, thanks again for a super fun day and let’s hangout again soon!
