I’ll always remember this engagement session because I shot it on the day after completing the ridiculous challenge of riding my bike up a total of 4500 vertical meters… that’s the equivalent of half of Mount Everest. I’ll also always remember this session because of the gorgeous light we had all day! You see, smoke from the forest fires in the interior of BC had started rolling into Metro Vancouver and the combination of that and the summer sun, gave everything a beautiful orange glow.
Our engagement session started off at Stanley Park in the tall grass near Lost Lagoon. I ride by this spot on a regular basis and absolutely LOVE how the sun just lights everything up along the pathway. It was a great starting spot because I could just hide behind some bushes and observe how Ashley and Vincent interacted with each other. It was no surprise that they were total naturals in front of the camera and just really enjoyed being around each other.
For our next spot, we found some driftwood over on the beach in front of Deadman’s Island. I really hate the name of the island, but that’s what it’s called… meh. After combing the beach and a quick outfit change, we hopped into my car and headed into Gastown to finish off our little tour of Downtown Vancouver.
Ashley and Vincent recently had a gorgeous destination wedding in Mexico and are now enjoying married life together. Thanks again, you two, for a wonderful evening and congratulations on your big day!
