This year, we had a long, cold and wet winter… spring wasn’t any better either. Then BAM! Summer hit us just like that and it’s been gorgeous ever since! I’m not complaining though – the rain and snow never kept me from enjoying the outdoors!
My engagement session with Christina and Jamie has been in the works for a looong time. Their wedding day was fast approaching (it’s actually today) so we had to just buckle down, pick a day and just get out there and shoot!
I met up with Christina and Jamie on a Tuesday evening just two weeks ago at Stanley Park. The sun was just getting ready to set for our session which made for the MOST amazing light. We started our session off in the woods behind the rose garden. The light was just streaming through the giant cedars giving everything a majestic glow. Next, we headed over to the Brockton Lighthouse to catch the sun as it was just over the mountains. The little corridor under the lighthouse is a deathtrap with cyclists and rollerbladers rolling through, but I absolutely LOVE this spot during golden hour.
The sun was setting quickly over the hills so for our next spot, we jumped in the car and raced (and by race I mean drove responsibly) over to English Bay. We hopped out of the car, quickly paid for parking then headed to my go to spot for catching the sun setting. We parked ourselves at the edge of the rocks and I let Christina and Jamie have a little intimate moment on the water. It was a perfect evening out after a stressful day at work. A flock of Canadian Geese even swam over at the very end to see what we were up to!
