The best things about being a wedding photographer are the bonds and relationships you develop with your clients. You get to play one of the biggest roles in their lives and if you’re lucky enough, that role extends to other key moments in their lives.
I was one of the photographers at Tiffannie and John’s wedding back in August last year. When Tiffannie messaged me back in December asking if I did maternity photos, I was overjoyed at the good news! We wanted to keep the photos timeless, soft, and beautiful and the spring season was the perfect time to do them. Our day started off at my secret spot near UBC in the forest underneath a beautiful magnolia blossom tree. I’d planned to go down to Spanish Banks to get some photos by the water, but I forgot that there was a big car meet happening there that day so we made a change to our plans and headed down to Wreck Beach. It was a little could on the day of our shoot and the forecast called for rain, but we were able to find a window in the day where the light was just perfect. We managed to get the soft dreamy look we wanted as well as some epic shots in the water.
This was my first real maternity shoot and I was really nervous going into it, but I’m extremely happy with the results and we all had a fantastic time shooting together again. Tiff and John, I’m so incredibly happy for the two of you and the new addition to your beautiful family. I can’t wait to see BBmak when he joins us in this world. Congratulations again and I wish the two of you the best in this new journey.
