Let me introduce you all to Arthur and Jenna from Seattle, Washington. It may seem a bit strange for a photographer from Vancouver traveling down to Seattle for an engagement session, but there’s a lot more to this story than meets the eyes. Jenna grew up in Reno, Nevada and Arthur spent the majority of his adolescence up here in Vancouver. Arthur and I went to High School together and say with great enthusiasm that he is one of my closest, bestest friends. He and I and another one of our friends make up a totally rad, tight knit little group that we like to call, “The Trifecta”. Anyways, enough about us, let’s talk about Arthur and Jenna.
Arthur and Jenna met and fell in love in Portland, Oregon where they both studied Law. Once graduated, they moved to Seattle to study for their bar examinations to become full fledged attorneys. I met Jenna for the first time a few years back while they were still in Portland. She was so easy to hang out with and we had a lot in common. I knew right away that she was the one for Arthur, and I was more than willing to make a little room in our little group.
Back to Seattle. Our photo session started off at Gas Works Park on the North Shore of Lake Union. It’s a really cool industrial park with sweeping views of Downtown Seattle. The weather wasn’t super cooperative on that day, but it was cool to see a layer of ominous clouds covering the city skyline. We decided to take a little break after this spot to grab some brunch. We ate WAY too much at brunch so we decided to take another break back at home.
After our second break and a quick outfit change, we headed over to the University of Washington. Arthur and Jenna spent a lot of time here studying for their bar exam, which would determine where they would work and eventually spend the rest of their lives. The Suzzallo Library was one of their favourite spots on campus because of the amazing architecture so we definitely had to make a stop there.
The remainder of our little weekend together was spent back at home cooking a meal together. Arthur and Jenna live extremely busy lives so they spend a lot of time cooking together and prepping meals for their hectic work weeks. It was nice to relax with them and at home drinking beers, cooking and sharing a meal. This was the perfect way to spend a weekend with some of my closest friends and I’m so grateful to have the two of you in my life! Congratulations on your engagement and I can’t wait to be a part of the wedding in September!
