Allow me to introduce you all to Martin and Carlen. An incredibly sweet couple connected by God and with an international twist. Our photo adventure started up on Grouse Mountain with our Winter Wonderland Pre Wedding shoot which was followed by a beautiful Summer Engagement shoot in Vancouver’s Olympic Village.
The wedding day started off at The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver downtown where Carlen had her hair and makeup done. We were joined shortly after by Martin and his groomsmen. Martin arrived to unveil his bride to be and we followed up with a quick tea ceremony with Carlen’s family. Our bridal party portraits began across the street at the Vancouver Art Gallery. I’d forgotten that the Vancouver Taiwanese Festival was on the same day so I had to be in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. It was the quickest group portrait session I’ve ever done, but we got some solid photos. The weather looked like it was going to take a turn for the worst so I decided to go to a covered area for our next location so we hopped in our cars and were off to the Vancouver Convention Centre. As expected, in typical Vancouver fashion, it started pouring rain in the middle of our session. No biggie though, when things like this happen, I tend to embrace it and make the most of the situation. Luckily, Martin and Carlen trusted me whole heartedly to create some magnificent photos so they were more than willing to get a little be wet. After our portraits at the Convention Centre, we were off to West Vancouver to take a few more photos at Hollyburn Country Club where the ceremony would take place. By the time we got there, the rain had stopped, the clouds blown away, and the sun made its appearance.
Following the portraits was another quick tea ceremony then a beautiful indoor ceremony filled with singspiration and worship. The singing continued on to the reception which turned out to be a very entertaining evening with all the amusing games organized by the emcees. The night ended off with an amazing dance performance put on by the bride and groom, which took me by surprise because I had no idea what their first dance was going to be.
Martin and Carlen, thank you again for putting so much faith in my abilities and I’m so happy that we are able to continue our journey together as friends!
