I won’t lie. When Abraham and Janice asked me to photograph their wedding, I was a bit nervous. Abraham is a fellow photographer and we photographers have very high expectations. This sense of nervousness did not last long though because it was overridden by my joy and excitement. Now, not only do I have a chance to do what I love the most, but I also have the honor of being an important part of my cousin’s special day.
The day started off at Abraham and Janice’s place where Janice was getting ready. Abraham arrived later in the morning to meet Janice for the first time in her beautiful gown. After a few photos in their gigantic football field of a backyard, we set off to The Kirkland House in Ladner, BC. It was a typical mid August summer day – hot, sunny and hot… did I mention it was hot? We were fortunate enough to have a nice gentle breeze to cool us off throughout the day. Abraham and Janice both come from very large church families so it was important for them to get lots of face time with their important guests. As such, we were not able to set aside some time for some more formal photos. However, after the tea ceremony (and some more group photos), I was able to steal them away just in time for magic hour.
