Grand extravagant weddings are great, but I’ll always have a sweet spot in my heart for the small intimate weddings I capture. When I met Jari and Kristine for our first consultation, they told me their wedding would be small – 22 guests to be exact. They wanted a small and intimate wedding. One where they were surrounded by their closest family and friends – their favourite people in the world.
The day started off simple enough with Kristine getting ready at her sister’s place. This is where I saw the most amazing dress I’ve seen all year… you’ll know what I mean when you see the photos of it. Kristine also hand made her bouquet out of gum paste with a jewel incrusted holder. Once the dress and all the little details were on, Kristine had a distinct vintage look to her, which was perfect for our portrait session in Gastown.
After our quick portrait session, we were off to Jericho Beach for the ceremony. This was an early spring wedding and the weather could not have been more perfect! The sun was out to give us a nice warm glow and there were just enough clouds to give us a mesmerizing sky. It was a beautiful ceremony full of smiles and laughter. I will never forget the looks of adoration on everyone’s faces as they saw Kristine walking down the path with her father in that beautiful dress.
The reception was held in the Oceans private dining room of The Blue Water Cafe in Yaletown. Mingling, wine and canapés took up the first part of the evening. A wonderful meal and a few speeches and toasts were to follow and the rest is history!
Jari and Kristine, I had a fabulous time in sharing this joyous occasion with the two of you. Thank you again so much and I wish the two of you a life time of happiness!
Enjoy the photos!
