Meet Pam and Isaiah! They live in two different cities in two different countries, but I wouldn’t really call their relationship long distance… it’s more like 3 hour drive distance. Our journey together started began with a few emails and phone calls back and fourth. I didn’t get chance to meet this wonderful couple until about an hour before our shoot, which is a new one for me. We met up on a Saturday over coffee to get to know each other a bit better and I was instantly excited to photograph these two when we realized all three of us were self proclaimed nerds!
Our session began at UBC near Vanier and Totem residences under some gorgeous cherry blossom trees. The forecast called for rain all day, but we were able to catch a window of glorious glorious sunshine. UBC is usually pretty quiet on the weekends, but the unexpected sunshine and the blooming cherry blossoms had drawn everyone outside.
Since it turned out to be such a beautiful day, we decided to make a stop at Spanish Banks right outside of UBC. The sun was just making its way over the trees, which gave us an incredible golden light. We had a moment to sit down on a hand carved uprooted tree trunk bench where Pam and Isaiah showed me their comic book they were working on – it was the perfect way to end an incredibly fun engagement session. Pam and Isaiah, thanks for taking the time to meet with me and I look forward to seeing you guys again in August!
