I’d like to introduce you all to Sunny and Nicole from Hong Kong! Pre-Wedding photos are a fun and relaxing way to get some amazing shots without all the hustle and bustle of all the wedding day events. However, when you’re trying to plan this with an international couple, things can become a bit nerve wracking since you don’t get a chance to meet them face to face. Sunny grew up in Vancouver and hadn’t been back in over 10 years, but this would be Nicole’s first time visiting Vancouver in her life! Luckily, they trusted my expertise and let me take care of most of the planning.
Through countless emails to prepare for this day, we’d agreed on taking our photos in Gastown for a old fashioned city view. It was a beautiful Friday evening, which meant that Gastown would be packed with tourists and locals out for happy hour. To avoid the crowds, I brought Sunny and Nicole to the top of a parking garage for a different view of Gastown – you know, trying to mix it up a little bit. The sun was starting to set so we packed up and started heading to our next location in West Vancouver. We arrived at Whytecliff Park just in time for Golden Hour. The wind was blowing hard, but it made for some lovely veil shots!
Meeting and working with Sunny and Nicole was such a pleasure. I’ve worked with a number of international couples this year and it’s always so much fun to be a tour guide for the day and get to know people from the other side of the Earth. Nicole and Sunny, thank you so much for coming all the way to Vancouver! I wish you two the best and I hope you have a fantastic wedding next year!
