For those of you who know me or have been following my work, you will know that Squamish is a place I hold near and dear to my heart. I spend what little spare time I have rock climbing and I have met some truly amazing people along the way.
Meet Andrew and Christian, also known as The King and Queen Bees – two very in love people with passions in climbing, music and reciting quotes from The Simpsons and South Park. I first met this goofy couple at my local climbing gym. Andrew is the owner of The Hive Bouldering Gym in Vancouver and has played a monumental role in redefining our local climbing community. Christian met Andrew years ago at unnamed climbing gym and have been partners ever since.
They decided to get married in Squamish as it’s just as special to them as it is to me (it’s also their new home). The wedding took place at the Executive Suites Hotel and Resort with the ceremony overlooking the Tantalus Range. The sun was up and it was very hot, but everything had a beautiful golden Squamish glow to it. The reception took place at The Living Room Restaurant and Lounge. Climbing and music inspired centre pieces were all DIY and very interactive.
This was the most emotional wedding I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. The entire day was just full of laughter and tears – I get a little emotional just looking through the photos because I’m reminded of what a perfect day it was. Andrew and Chris, I had such a wonderful time photographing your special day and thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to capture these amazing memories for you.
