Coming up this weekend is Natalie and Patrick’s wedding in Vancouver!
Today, I want to share their fun and explorative engagement session with you! When the three of us first met, we talked a lot about our hobbies and what it was like growing up in Vancouver. Patrick mentioned that one of his fondest memories was visiting his grandparents’ home in West Vancouver and playing with this cousins at the beach behind their house!
I’ve read about the secret beaches of West Vancouver, but I’ve never had the chance to explore them myself so this was the perfect opportunity to do so!
Our session started off in the beautiful backyard of Patrick’s grandparents’ home. There, he entertained me of stories of backyard bbq’s and how his grandparents were one of the first families who moved into this high end neighbourhood (before it has so highly sought after). After that, we made our way over to the secluded beach and took our time walking, chatting and exploring the streams and waterways that emptied into the ocean.
It was nice to have a change of scenery from my usual spots and it was also great to incorporate a part of Pat’s childhood memories into their engagement session. I had a blast photographing these two and can’t wait to see them again this weekend for their wedding at Brix & Mortar Restaurant!
