Meghan and Michael grew up and met in the Maritimes, but now live in Alberta. Being from the East Coast, they were always surrounded by water and thus, wanted to be married somewhere a little reminiscent of home. Vancouver is such a beautiful city surrounded by nature and couldn’t have fit the bill more for this elopement.
Meghan and Michael had an very intimate elopement ceremony in the signature suite of the Opus Hotel, a unique boutique hotel situated in the middle of Yaletown in Downtown Vancouver. Michael and I did a little bit of furniture rearrangement to set the place up perfectly while Meghan got ready in the ensuite. The ceremony was short and sweet and followed by some celebratory champagne on the balcony.
After a few quick portraits, I gave Meghan and Michael some time to soak in all that’d just happened, then we were off to Stanley Park for some more portraits. We managed to make it to sunset beach just in time for some golden hour. It was a chilly November evening, but that didn’t matter. We stayed out until the sun set over the mountains and got some gorgeous shots with some beautiful fall colours.
Our evening ended with me dropping them off back at the hotel to celebrate this joyous occasion with a night out on the town before flying out to Hawaii for their honeymoon.
Meghan and Michael, thank you so much for choosing me to be your photographer for your beautifully intimate elopement. I wish you two the best for the years to come and home you’re able to come out to Vancouver again to explore more of this beautiful city.
